Pet Adoption Day at the Georgia Governor’s Mansion

June is Pet Preparedness Month in Georgia, and the First Lady of Georgia Marty Kemp is showing her support by hosting a Pet Adoption Day at the Governor’s Mansion on Saturday, June 29 from 9am to 12pm. At this event, the Kemp family will be partnering with humane societies, rescues, and animal shelters from across the state to help find homes for dogs and cats in need.  The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency will also be attending to share information about how to prepare your pets for disasters like creating an emergency plan and a pet ready kit. They will be available to answer any questions you may have about pet preparedness.

Our dog, Rylie, has been a part of our family for nine years. She enjoys boat rides, good company, and sunny days. She is a source of comfort, compassion, and companionship to us, and we are so thankful to have her in our lives. Animals can positively influence both our happiness and our health. There is nothing like the bond we share with our pets.

The Governor’s Mansion is located at 391 West Paces Ferry Road N Atlanta, GA 30305. Registration for the event is required, and you can do so here. I hope you will find a new addition to your family while you’re there!
